Advertising is with no doubt going to a new phase within the scope of the economic crisis across most countries worldwide. Traditional media have been questioned and forced to either transform to keep on existing or just fight with new media. Mobile applications, Social Media, communication platforms and more have taken advertising to a different level. Perhaps more complex for many, but more targeted for others who can now not only reach their prospects but create a communication-connection-engagement process to learn more and provide more.
A modern business that wants to thrive nowadays has to fulfill some requirements into the new marketing and advertising era:
1) The realization that spending more on advertising will not bring the required results, but rather a more clear and focused advertising strategy on the media their prospects use to gather information about the product and gain knowledge about the Brand.
2) Advertising resources should be utilized to open communication channels via social media to connect and engage consumers and prospects with the brand and its values
3) Gather all the information we can by this method to learn more on the profile of our customers and their input and thoughts about the brand and its products
4) Advertising is not something to throw in the face of consumers especially thru social media platforms but rather be a small part of its overall use
5) Advertising is becoming more and more important when we focus on word of mouth especially in smaller communities. Spending money creating word of mouth advertising creates a higher perception of value to the brand as people trust more the judgment and experience of a friend than a single advertisement
