On February 13 another successful seminar
was delivered in Nicosia exploring the latest trends on Social Media and the
aspects of Social Marketing. With no doubt Social Media is booming in all
aspects. New platforms gain ground and mobile apps get more attention. The
mobile phone becomes the centre of attention both in internet surfing and
Social Media usage. Traditional marketing, advertising and branding have
changed forever.
Social Marketing needs to be taken even more seriously. Companies
realize they do not own their brand and have to carefully listen to customer wishes
and ethical practices. There are numerous examples of how Social Media is being
utilized to put pressure on companies to change practices that harm the
environment or our quality of life.
