Snoop Dogg and Social Media

Snoop Dogg and Social Media

I have often used Snoop Dogg as an example in my presentations because he uses Social Media extensively to connect and update his audience with his work.

Music stars, movie stars and celebrities in general tend to be good examples. Some times though, depending on their personality they go to extremes just to keep feeding their audience with parts of their lives.

Snoop Dogg won a big portion of pot in a boxing match bet 3 days ago, and thought it was a "cool" idea to share it on Instagram. Having more than 2.2 million followers the photo generated more than 83,000 likes and more than 5,600 comments!

There is in my opinion a big ethical issue here. I suppose the followers of Snoop Dogg find it "cool" and "funny", but if opinion leaders and music stars promote qualities like smoking pot, then many more people would object in publicising such a content that may have a negative influence specially to young people.

Do not forget that images and careers have been destroyed or severely damaged by "stupid" actions like this one!
