The Value of Giving: WestJet Christmas Miracle
Giving Value to customers (not adding Value) is something that most businesses fail to do. This mostly happens because they fail to realize what Value is.
In the past few days the video of WestJet Airlines has gone viral with millions of views on YouTube, sharing on Social Media and positive comments from people around the globe!
Marketers consider it a brilliant and creative idea, others comment on the ability to capture the Christmas spirit and people in general just say WOW! WestJet have managed to move peoples hearts and make some of their clients dreams come true!
Although giving Value to your clients at any point they interact with your brand seems like a simple idea,it is very difficult to implement.
In the case of WestJet they have managed to understand and implement the idea of giving Value, and what a better time to do that but Christmas!
Giving Value though has a much bigger effect on a brand that someone might think. The Value of giving creates a spectrum of benefits on the short term and the long term.
When you give Value to your clients then Value is what you get back. It may be in terms of reputation, sales, branding, word-of-mouth advertising, and much more.
WestJet have definitely seen their "investment" in their clients giving them back much more than they hoped for!
